Here is a superb piece of fossil redwood tree, from the Jurassic, the middle age of dinosaurs. Found near the Yellow Cat Flat-Poison Strip Uranium Mine in eastern Utah, in the Brushy Member Basin of the Morrison Formation. The mines have been closed since the late 1960's. It is polished on the front side. This one has just incredible natural colors. Pictures taken in bright natural light. Both ends and one face have been polished.
