George III Silver Patch, Pill, Peppermint Box London 1795 Roger Biggs

Description: A small beautifully crafted oval shaped silver box hallmarked in London in 1795 carrying the makers mark for Roger Biggs, a well known maker of Georgian boxes. It has a lightly and finely engraved pattern on the top and bottom parts of the box. It pushes shut. It is gilded or gold washed to the interior.It opens and closes cleanly. Good solid original and genuine box with many uses. Weight of 8.5 Grams approx3.3 cm long by 2.4 wide 1.3 high cm approx Condition: In good antique condition commensurate with age and normal usage. Normal surface marks in line with its age. It has a lovely Georgian patina and has not been over polished. Marks on base and lid in good condition. Gilding in good condition.
