Established in 1857, the shop was originally the Samuel Sherlock Co. Upon Mr. Sherlock's death in a horse riding accident George Lawrence took over the management of the company and bought the family out in 1892 to become the George Lawrence Co. Harness & Saddlery. The shop was famous for it's high quality, beautifully handmade holsters, slings, scabbards and more from it's inception and as the largest saddle and harness maker on the west coast they were renown for their products.
