Description: This handsome single chamber Georgian (c. 1800-1820) tea caddy sarcophagus is fashioned in complimentary tones of rosewood and comes with all its original brass hardware -- including sturdy working hinges and lion grips to the sides. The unusual trapezoid lid design adds significant interest, creating ten borders that show off its lines nicely against the the lighter and darker tones of wood. The interior is lined in royal purple velvet (a later replacement for the original). Keyhole (key not present) is surrounded by mother of pearl. Dimensions: 8" x 5" x 4" The box is in good antique condition, and has only normal signs of 200+ years of prior usage. A lovely sight to see, and a beautiful addition to any classic room decor.__________________Shipping is via Fedex, and includes protective packaging materials and full value insurance.
