Description: Finely Crafted Late Georgian Brass Chamber Stick Probably dating to the late 18th or very early 19th centuries. A lovely example of classic, practical Georgian design. Made in large numbers by the local smiths, this example is lifted from many by the nicely worked, fold-edged, serpentine rim on the deeply dished drip pan - charmingly echoed in the shaped bobeche that crowns the reeded barrel. Even the handle is a wonderfully stylish question-mark shape in profile The brass, well polished over centuries, has acquired a bright patina. There are some minor dings consistent with age and use. The side ejector mechanism is missing its brass knob. A receiving hole in the handle suggests the stick is also missing what was probably a conical brass snuffer. Nevertheless, a well designed, stylish survival. The photographs constitute part of the description. Candle not included. Approximate Size: Width 18cm (7") x Depth 16cm (6⅓") x Height 12.5cm (5") Overseas postage via Global Shipping Programme only. Always carefully packed.
