Description: Nice lot of 2 hard cover, vintage books with German fairy tales. Basically the same book but one in German Language and one in English! Struwwelpeter, Merry Stories and Pictures, English, published by Blackie & Son, with 24, one-sided pages, thicker stock paper. No date but early, perhaps 1930s to 50s? Der Struwwelpeter, Dr Heinrich Hoffman, very thick, 2-sided pages, so thick could not fold them without breaking. About 22 pages including covers. Probably the same age. If you aren’t familiar with ‘vintage’ German fairy tales, they are quite gruesome and wouldn’t usually be considered appropriate for children nowadays. As shown. Fair condition or a little better. Generally minor wear, minor blemishes, more wear to cover edges, heavy wear to spines. The English language one may be missing a first page and has extra light blemishes throughout.
