(The production opened October 11th, 1939 and ran for 256 performances.) ..... The play starred GERTRUDE LAWRENCE and featured DONALD COOK, GLENN ANDERS, WALTER GILBERT, HORACE SINCLAIR, WILLIAM DAVID, GERTRUDE BRYAN, ANN DRISCOLL, VIVIAN VANCE and ROBERT BURTON ..... CREDITS: Book by SAMSON RAPHAELSON; Sets designed by DONALD OENSLAGER; Directed by SAMSON RAPHAELSON; Produced by JOHN GOLDEN ..... DETAILS: The ticket envelope (not from the 1930's) measures 4 1/4" X 2 1/2" inches and has advertising for New York's Cattle Baron Steak Houses on both the front and backsides. The December 16th, 1939 evening performance ticket stub measures approx. 1 1/2" X 1 1/4" inches ..... CONDITION: The envelope's flap was sealed and opened at the top fold and there is light soiling and the ticket stub has glue residue on the backside. Despite these flaws, this rare set will make a wonderful addition to the collection of any musical theatre aficionado or historian. This set will be carefully packaged in a protective, carded sleeve and backed by stiff cardboard.
