As its title implied, every issue featured tales of hauntings and wayward spirits ! Unlike all of DC's other horror-themed comics in the 1970s,Ghosts had no recurring host character for most of its run, instead opening with a one-page ghost story titled "Ghosts and the Supernatural". Starting with Ghosts #75, the series featured a page of prose accounts of the supernatural, "The Files of Dr. Geist", but the eponymous Paul Geist, PhD never appeared on-panel or directly addressed the reader.
