Description: Gianfranco Ferre Jeans Made in Italy Vintage Black on Black Stripe 2 Button Jacket + matching 5 pocket style Jeans 2 piece Set Pantsuit. Both pieces have original sewn in "IT" labels certifying authenticity. Fabulous suit!!!! Wear pieces together as a casual tuxedo style or separately. Jacket has two logo buttons on front and 3 each at sleeve wrists - see photos. Collared long Jacket (sort of equestrian style as it nips in at the waist slightly) with small shoulder padding for a defined shoulder, 2 deep front pockets and 1 faux breast pocket. Jacket is marked an Italian size 44 - in our opinion, it runs slightly small and fits more like a US 4 or small size 6. Fully lined in logo lining that spells out "Gianfranco Ferre". Fabric is from Italy and is a soft (feels like a cotton velvet) shadow stripe fabric that is 76% cotton, 24% viscose/rayon. Approximate measurements taken flat: 28 1/2 inches down center back, 22 1/8 inches from shoulder seam to wrist, 18 1/2 inches underarm to underarm (when buttoned), Classic 5 pocket style Jeans are marked a size 46 but in our opinion fit XS - more like a US size 2 or small 4. They appear to have been shortened, but we don't see any signs of altering to make them smaller at waist or hips. Unlined. 5 working pockets. Zip front. Belt loops. Silver toned logo hardware. High rise. Soft (feels like a cotton velvet) shadow stripe fabric is from Italy and is 76% cotton, 24% viscose/rayon. Not much stretch. Approximate measurements taken flat: 28 inch inseam, 11 inch front rise, 27 1/2 inch waist, 7 inches across at bottom of each leg. Gianfranco Ferre started his own line in 1978, and continued it even during the years he was the Stylistic Director for Dior from 1989-1997. He died in 2007. We do not know the exact age of this suit. It appears similar in overall style and feel to the 2002-2002 Fall Winter Milan runway show available to view on Youtube, but it could be earlier, in the 90s.
