Description: This is a set of Gibson 490R/498T pickups from 2006. The chrome covers show a bit of natural aging and they both have 2 conductor braided leads. The neck pickup is the 490R and reads 7.76k on my meter. The hookup wire is 15" long. The 490R is a humbucker with the tonal characteristics of an original Patent Applied For, with a slight increase in upper midrange response. The bridge pickup is the 498T and reads 13.98k on my meter. The hookup wire is 12" long. The 498T combines the more powerful response of an Alnico 5 magnet with additional balanced windings on each coil, which puts the emphasis on the pickup's upper midrange frequencies for enhanced crunch and sustain. The 498T is perfect for any hard rock application, easily overdriving amplifiers for a beefy, sizzling output that boosts any guitar's power and presence.
