Description: This is a vintage antique sample of barbed wire fencing. This sample features a Joseph F. Glidden patent, dated November 24, 1874. This wire is called Glidden's Two Point Barb on One of Two Lines - All Aluminum" by collectors. (ref Hagemeier 317-B). This wire features two round line wires twisted together. Barbs are two pointed made from round wire wrapped twice around one line. Barbs and Lines are all aluminum. Wire sample is 18" in length and has four barbs. Barbs are well spaced, and cut is well centered. Wire shows very light oxidation. There is some light bending of barbs, but no broken or missing barbs.
