FOR REFERENCE ONLY! ITEM DESCRIPTION/DETAILS: Well, Ladies and Gentleman for those of you who are Globe-Wernicke®/Macey stack barrister legal bookcase collectors, restorers and fans these are EXACTLY what you need to finish detailing your bookcase desk units. This auction is for 2 (two) a matching pair (left and right) of bookcase desk oak leg assemblies. WITHOUT THESE LEGS YOUR DESK UNITS ARE ESSENTIALLY UNUSABLE AS THEY PROVIDE THE FORWARD SUPPORT FOR THE FRONT LIDS TO OPEN. WITHOUT THE LEGS THE STACK WILL FALL FORWARD WHEN THE DESK IS OPENED! I have gone to considerable expense, time and effort to have these produced again. THIS IS THE FIRST BATCH IN 5 YEARS. These were much more expensive to make then in the past. THERE ARE A LIMITED NUMBER OF 10 SETS AVAILABLE AND THERE MAY NOT EVER BE MORE MADE DEPENDING ON DEMAND. WE MAKE LITTLE MONEY ON THESE SO PRODUCTION TAKES UP QUITE A BIT OF OUR OPERATING CAPITAL WHICH SLOWS BRINGING MORE PARTS TO THE MARKET FOR THESE STACK BOOKCASES. THESE ARE EXACTING DOWN TO THE LAST I /64TH INCH OF MEASUREMENT! They are made from old growth quarter sawn white oak. However, as the material is turned the quarter sawn flakes only appear on certain part of the surfaces. Anyone who works with woods knows that these flecks are a result of the angle of the cut on the wood. If I were not telling you that they were new production it would be impossible for you to know they weren't 100-year-old production parts that had been sanded. See the photo on bottom left for the new legs sitting next to the repaired originals that were used as masters for duplication. They also come with the correct attaching slots. These are matched from an original master set. To make these legs is a very time consuming, 7 step process, much of it done by hand. I offer these only occasionally as my elderly master cabinet maker will only produce a few of them when things are slow. I have had many calls for these in the past and they went for high prices to discriminating restorers. These are the only correct one’s EVER offered on eBay! See my other ad on eBay for the leg bracket mounting assemblies (see last photo on right). I sell them separately as many times the desks still have them attached to the underside of the desk where the legs were attached before becoming separated from the desk and lost. THE PHOTOS OF THE DESKS ARE FOR REFERENCE ONLY. THIS SALE IS FOR THE PAIR OF LEGS ONLY! The desk with the legs in stack arrangements bring 2-3 times more when sold if the legs are present. Stacks have gone as high as $3,000.00 with the complete assemblies here on eBay. If you have the desk unit the legs are an absolute must to insure function and to maintain your investment and prevent accidents. I have 1000+ stack units and 8 desk units in inventory and these fit in perfectly with the original units. WE ARE THE ONLY TOTAL WORLD SOURCE FOR ACCURATE GLOBE-WERNICKE® MACEY PARTS!
