Description: HUM 357 "Guiding Angel" - TMK-5 Height 2.85" This hummel was originally modeled by master sculptor Reinhold Unger in 1958. It was first released in the U.S. market in 1972. It has an incised 1960 copyright date. Since it was first released in 1972, the first available trademark was the Last Bee TMK-5, as shown for sale here. There are not many found with the TMK-4 trademark as they were released and sold overseas. No unusual variations have been recorded over the years. This hummel was usually offered, along with HUM 358 and HUM 359, as a set of three angels, although priced separately. The original issue price was $11.00 in 1972. This is a Closed Edition (CE). See below for the specifications: Has Last Bee "" Trademark (TMK-5) stamped in Blue on underside of base. The TMK-5 trademark is the First Available Trademark released in the USA in 1972! Incised Hummel Number "357", Factory Control Number "70" and Copyright Date "1960" on underside of base. Incised "Hummel" signature on right side of angel's gown. Hummel stands at little higher than the catalog's listed height of 2.75". It actually exceeds the height listed by between a sixteenth and an eighth of an inch taller, as it passes a tiny bit higher than the 2.75" mark on the tape measure, estimating 2.85" tall. Master Painter Hand-signed signature in black on underside of base. Colors are Strong, Vibrant, Glossy and Lustrous! Closed Edition (CE). Repaired - Head of angel was broken off and subsequently restored to the body. A good repair job, as it is difficult to notice. See final few pictures for close up views. Hummel is in Good Repaired Condition! Aside from the head being reattached, there are no other damages to the figurine. There is some crazing detected throughout the piece, but very difficult to see without bright light and magnification. See final few pictures for close up views.
