Description: As best as I can identify them, these are two Golden Birdwings, Troides aeacus. They came from an estate auction over 30 years ago.The wooden box measures 14¼ x 7½ x 2" high and has a clear glass top that slides out one end smoothly in a dadoed track. There are three hangers on the back of the case so you can hang the box vertically or horizontally.The butterflies are in good repair with the only fault I can see being one scratch on the golden portion of one wing which has removed some of the scales.The measurement wingtip to wingtip is just over 4", but I'm not convinced that this is how they ought to be measured.
