Description: Here are 2 brand new vintage 1978 footed ceramic coffee mugs from "The Morning Exchange" TV program. These are my personal mugs that were obtained in 1978 as a contest prize and have never been used. The Morning Exchange appeared on Cleveland's ABC affiliate Channel 5 from 1972 to 1999 and starred Fred Griffith as the host. This program was the first of its kind and ABC used The Morning Exchange as the pilot for its national morning program, Good Morning America, which replaced the struggling A.M. America in 1975. The format caught on and soon GMA beat NBC's Today in the ratings. Not long after, both NBC and CBS adopted the format for their morning shows. The mugs measure about 3-1/16" in diameter without the handle, 4” wide with the handle, 4-7/8" tall and hold about 10 oz. They are brand new with no breaks, cracks, chips, flea bites or utensil marks. One side of one handle has some glaze sand and darkness from the original glazing process--see last photo. The graphics are bright orange and the mugs are white. See high resolution photos for more and use the magnify feature. All 4 sides, the top, and the bottom of the mugs are shown.
