Good SOUTH AFRICAN Painting on Board-E.C. CHURCHILL MACE-Table Mountain-NR

Description: Up for bid is an oil on board painting of Table Mountain(?) by noted South African artist Edward Clark Churchill Mace (1863-1928). The unframed image measures 16 inches wide by 7 3/4 inches tall. As far as I can tell it is a view of Table Mountain, a favorite view of the artist. The painting is signed "CHURCHILL MACE" in the lower right. The back has a taped envelope on which is written "About this Picture", but the envelope is empty. Condition on the painting is fair. There is a band of paint loss on the lower edge, likely from when it adhered to its original frame. The painting is dirty and yellowed, but would look great with a cleaning and restoration. Regardless, a good original oil by a noted South African artist.
