Description: Up for bid or sale is a very nice antique Queen Anne era, wood door. Standing approximately 77-1/2" tall x 30" in width x about 1-1/2" in thickness, but having parts that protrude out another 1 to 1-1/4". This door originally had glass, possibly beveled in the upper portion of the door, but at present, it is missing and not included in this sale. The front or obverse of the door is hand grained and meant to look like quartersawn oak, while the back or reverse of the door is painted in a number of coats of paint, that at present is peeling as can be seen in the pics provided. The back can be stripped to reveal a natural wood look and then sealed natural or painted. Hand stripping or the use of a heat gun for stripping should take no more than 5-10 hours, maybe shorter because half the door needs no stripping. If you're looking for a door for the front of your house, a project house, or even a door for a kitchen entrance, you can't go wrong here. If you'd like us to strip the reverse prior to shipping, we can help you with that, too, for a fee, of course. Due to size, this door will have to go(shipped) by a common carrier, which you will have to hire, and we will assist with your shipper. If you live within 200 miles, I will deliver, again, for a fee, just ask. Good luck and check out my other auctions.
