Description: Up for a 3 Day Auction is this Fabulous Antique Velvet Autograph Album. The color is somewhere between red and wine. This would have been a keepsake for friends to sign. On the front cover, inlaid in the velvet, "ALBUM" is overlaid. It is silver in color. I cannot ascertain what the content of the metal is. Frankly, my first instinct is that it is sterling....but, if it were silver it would be tarnished. This silver has no tarnish. The metal is screwed or nailed into the front board. Except for a wee bit of wear on the backboard, the velvet is in fine condition. There is a beautiful title page. There are 6 or 7 signed pages dating from 1889 ro 1894. As was usually the case, the script is lovely. The body of pages is breaking away from the boards, particularly at the front hinge. The book measures 3 and a half by 5 and a quarter inches. This was a wonderful find, your's for the bidding.
