I have always admired its curvilinear form & graceful proportions. While it has imperfections such as chips & 4-5 tiny popped glaze bubbles it can be said that it has aged as gracefully as its lines. As with many other ceramics of its day, there are also some irregularities in its formation from the mold & manufacturing process of the time. The vase has a similar design sensibility to flared Fiestaware vases of the era. It shares the same incised horizontal lines & circles on the base. This vase is wider & curvier & may have been a precursor to the Fiesta line, or possibly manufactured in another region of the country during the same time period. The color is an appealing soft, creamy blue. All in all, the vase is very visually pleasing. The vase is remarkably clean & free of the muck & shelf wear that similar vases of its age usually carry. The interior is very clean w/ a tiny bit of crazing. The bottom is flat & the vase stands nicely with no wobble. I have NOT tested to see if the vase holds water well. It has been displayed with other ceramic items & not used for fresh flowers in some time. The vase stands 8 inches tall.
