Description: The Luxor Obelisks are a pair of Ancient Egyptian obelisks carved to stand either side of the portal of the Luxor Temple in the reign of Ramesses II. The left-hand obelisk remains in its location in Egypt, but the right-hand stone, 23 meters high, is now at the center of the Place de la Concorde in Paris, France. This is a very well casted replica of the monument made for wealthy Grand Tour travelers in the second half of the 18th century. This obelisk is 9” tall including its 4” square marble base. It was made circa 1860 and has wonderfully defined details. Like so many of these it is missing the little fence around the base but otherwise is intact. It is in good vintage condition with age-appropriate wear. Please use the pictures as the best indication of condition. Questions are always welcome.
