Description: Description: "Wet Tires Slip, Weed Chains Grip" is the slogan on the side of this empty box of Weed Chains which slipped over your automobile tires and gave you grip in the muddy conditions that many roads were in the early 1900's. Car tires were very skinny and ruts were rampant in the roads, which lead to many owners getting stuck daily. This invention by Harry D. Weed solved this problem! This graphic box once carried a set of super extra heavy 28x6.00-16 chains, and it is made of heavy cardboard to support the chain weight. The cover of the box features a young couple talking with an older gentleman that states he will marry the couple, pay for their hotel stay, post the wedding announcement and sell them a set of chains for the sum of twelve dollars! Some wear on the outer edges of the box along with the labels. On one side a marker has stained the label, and the box is empty. 19137-EEP Photo:
