And, that really only means anything to anyone ... if You ! have Heard ! This !! Franklin's Tower !!!!! Holy G.D. !?!?! Alright ... now let me just take a quick-step back here to do this whole thing in 'rightful ' order --- GRATEFUL DEAD 10/27/1979 at the CAPE COD COLISEUM in SOUTH YARMOUTH, MASS. !!!! Or, as I likely should say & replace... " MASS-( IVE ) " !!!!! People, People ... I mean you know how it is when you find that " Dead-Show For-You " ?! - Right ? And, as for me ... This-Show ! was clearly one of them ... just Completely-HUGE !!! And, I have to openly admit - that I didn't even find it until later along the line ... right ' after ' the '92 Summer Tour ! I had heard about it for years, but for some silly reason ( which I still can't explain here today ) ... I stupidly ' passed ' on getting a copy of this Show. I still cannot understand why I took a ' Pass ' on this one - as I pretty much always remember seeing it on tons ! of tape trader's lists ... and if my memory serves me right too - it was usually like B+ / A-, and even A- in it's Soundboard availability. But, I don't know ... I just messed up - or maybe I was ' accidentally ' saving some of the Best ! Live-G.D. for later-days. And too ... kicking myself even more here now - just thinking back about the fact that Bands like Aerosmith, Van Halen, and so-on were Really-Hammering ! this particular " CCC " Venue - to the point that you even saw bootlegs circulating of those Shows ?!? I mean heck, even the Jerry Garcia Band !!! played the Cape Cod Coliseum right around this time, and too ... I even think it-was " 1979 " - if my memory serves me correctly, without checking it out, to properly confirm. But, anyways - enough of all of that ... and let's cut straight to the chase. >>> DANCIN ' > FRANKLIN'S !!!!! & CAUTION JAM > OTHER ONE !!!!! Just ... Off-The-Hook ! Live Grateful Dead. Believe-it ... as to this day, I'm not sure there is a much-better segue transition out there ??! ( or, maybe more-" Enjoyable " ! ) segue transition out there then when Dancin' weaves into Franlkin's Right-Here !!! Hmmmm ... Uncle John's > Dew > Uncle John's at UCLA in '73 ? ... Wharf Rat > Terrapin at Pemboke Pines in '77 ? ... dang, I don't know - there are so-many, but come on ... this is Dancin' ! & Franklin's !! that we are talking about here !?! Everyone sounds Perfect ! - and at the top of their game on this Show ... and they just Drill ! this one - with Garcia connecting steel strings & drum beats like they-are-one ! It's just Perfect !!! - and even in a 8/13/75 Great American style ' Perfect ' way ! Yeah, I know that's a stretch & all to claim that - but, at least to me & my humble Dead Fan ears ... and my always-growing & evolving taste in Live G.D. - this is right up there on the Top-Shelf !!! And, as for this Caution Jam > Other One ???! More like ... Holy-Jerry !!! > Holy-Phil !!!!! As this is indeed the type of O1 " Bomb " that we all wanted Always ! - but, rarely ever really got it ... just ' quite-like ' This !!! I mean it has some serious similarities to the '78 Winterland O1 Phil-Explosion !!! - that let's face it ... is actually bordering on a ' Heavy Metal ' Attack ! Well, then let's remember to thank the stars above for '70's & '80's Dead ... because let's face it - don't we-all want to play at least a little-Metal ! Jerry did, and that's no joke ... as heck they don't call him the " Boss " for nothing - right ? Can you say ' Japanese-Made ' HM-2 !!!!! Yeah, the Muscle ! Pedal - that even some dudes have tattoos of on their biceps.
