Grateful Dead '77 Fall Tour !!!!! ... and this-is indeed the " Original ! " G.D. ( 2005 Grateful Dead Productions, Inc. ) release DECD278 ( Not the Real Gone 2011 Re-Print / Re-Issue ) -- Fall Tour '77 New York Live-Dead !!!Wow ..... as this is a Seriously - High-Energy '77 Show !, where each disc gets better !, better !! & then ( you guessed it ... ) - Better !!! A True Grateful Dead " Gem "of a '77 performance!!! I hope you already know what I'm taking about here loyal Dead-Fans, because this one is an Amazing-Rocker ! This is a 3-CD Set, and you are also treated to Seven ( 7 ) Bonus Tracks from the 11/2/77 Toronto, Ontario Show just three ( 3 ) nights prior. This was " Dick's Last Pick from the '77 Well ", and in some ways he did indeed save some nuggets of the best stuff for last. As with much of '77 Dead, the percussion time-keeping is just immaculate - but this is indeed one of those more-so uptempo nights where the energy flows freely, and good timing leads to good vocals, to good stage charisma, and to pushing the envelopes when the pockets present themselves. Vocally, they're just on ! And Jerry ? Shows like this ( & Englishtown too ! ) make me wonder why he ever permanently parted with that MXR Distortion + and MXR Analog Delay ... with the Reticon Chip ! -- these things just Take-Charge ! on the Tone !! -- I mean turning Solos ! turn to So~Los !!! Ha ! But then again, it is Garcia driving them ... the King of Rock 'n Roll ! And nobody can do it just 'quite' like him. Hip, hip hurr~Ahhh for this 1977 Grateful Dead Dick ! Just plain " Thanks ". I mean what else can I say ? This release just barn-stormed my mind ... and then yes, that feeling too often in " Deadheadland ! " -- where in the world have You-been, all of my Life ??! Enjoy this Beauty ... as it's a Flat-Out '77 Heater !!!!!!!
