This is the original beaded earring book and still the best and most comprehensive instruction on the subject. It has been re-formatted with improved, computerized, beading graphs that are easier to follow and easier to read text. Written by master craftsperson Deon DeLange, this book explains and fully illustrates how to make earrings and necklaces from seed beads, bugle beads, silver heishi and traditional Native American materials. Deon has perfected this art and her expertise and experience make this an easy-to-follow book. Each step is fully illustrated and the text is "reader tested" and enthusiastically endorsed. With over thirty-eight plates, examples, charts and illustrations, in both color and black & white, the reader is taken step-by-step through the making of Deon's Designs Originale Earrings (made from seed and bugle beads); Loop Style Quill Earrings; Loop Style Double Earrings; Tin Cone, Quill and Seed Bead Earrings; Headpin Earrings; Heishi Earrings; and, Peyote Stitch Earrings. The creation of complimentary necklaces is also explained and illustrated. This book is truly the best of its kind and a must if you enjoy creating beautiful crafts. Paperback with owner's sticker on front. Pages clean. BInding tight. 14. Beaded Jewelry Workstation: Hardcover. Many projects. Original book came with beads in sorting tray. No beads, but you will find the sorting tray very useful. 15. Creative Charm Embellishments. Good condition with some minor edge wear. This booklet is full of patterns and projects for using charms. Great resourse! 16. Beadwork Basics by Ann Benson. Hardcover with dust jacket, in excellent condition. Maybe the word basics sets up certain expectations, but Benson manages to discuss in the space of a few pages--in the introduction and in concluding paragraphs--bead fundamentals, including necessary tools and different techniques (peyote stitch, brick stitch, and bead weaving, among others). Twenty-nine projects constitute the meat of the book, each with color photographs, materials list, directions, and, if necessary, charts, diagrams, and a key to the various sizes of beads. Among the projects are cobalt-and-gold cabochon earrings, a beaded bouquet clutch bag, stickpins and barrettes, and a pin with the visage of Marilyn Monroe. Unfortunately, beginners will find the projects a bit frustrating, since the basics of beadwork are not only separate from the patterns but abbreviated in description as well.
