Description: Very good condition Griswold No. 8 pattern number 704. Small Block Logo, cast iron skillet. Griswold made the small block logo with three handle variations. This handle style is the grooved handle and is the latest of the variations. While the small block logos were manufactured from 1939-1957, this one was made during the last 7 years of production from 1950-1957. Made in Erie, Pennsylvania by the Griswold Manufacturing Company. CONDITION: Skillet is in very good vintage condition and sits perfectly flat on a hard smooth granite countertop. Cooking surface is smooth and in good condition with only light wear from use. There is one small chip on the upper rim which is minimal. Lines on logo lettering are crisp and clear. Skillet does not spin, has no cracks, rust, or repairs. Please see photos as part of description. ~Disclaimer: All vintage and antique cast iron typically shows some signs of wear including light utensil marks, discoloration, and minor pitting. I always do my best accurately picture and describe each piece so you can buy with confidence. RESTORATION: This vintage piece of cast iron has been carefully cleaned to bare iron and fully restored using a combination of electrolysis, lye, and vinegar. It has been seasoned with 3 layers of grape seed oil at 450 degrees for a deep, beautiful, patina finish.
