Description: "Guitar Hero: Warriors of Rock," also known as "Guitar Hero 6," was released on the Xbox 360 in 2010 by Activision. Like previous "Guitar Hero" games, you'll use special instrument-shaped controllers to play a variety of songs. Each controller takes the form of the instrument you're playing. For example, you'll use a guitar controller to play the lead guitar or bass. "Guitar Hero: Warriors of Rock" also includes a single-player campaign dubbed Quest Mode. In Quest Mode, you'll assemble a team of great rockers to stop The Beast. You'll play in both dive bars and arenas alike as you win more and more allies to your side. It will take the average gamer six hours to finish the campaign mode. However, the fun is only just beginning once the credits roll. The basic gameplay of "Guitar Hero: Warriors of Rock" is like other games in the franchise. Armed with your instrument of choice, you'll attempt to perform a song from beginning to end. Notes of different colors scroll from the top of the screen to the bottom. As each note reaches the bottom, you must hit the appropriate button on your controller. The more notes you hit in a row, the higher your score multiplier gets. The better your score, the more stars you get at the end of a song. However, if you fail to hit a note, your score multiplier resets back to zero. Miss enough notes and the song ends, resulting in the audience booing you off the stage. However, you do have one ace in the hole: star power. By successfully hitting notes, you will fill a gauge at the bottom of the screen. When activated, star power will double your multiplier, letting you get more points per note. If you want to earn the full six stars on every track, you must master this power. The characters all have a unique version of this power. For example, one character's power will triple the multiplier instead of doubling it. Up to four friends can game together in one band. Two players can perform lead and bass guitar, one on drums, and one singing. There are five difficulties modes for each song, ranging from Easy to Expert. Each time you increase the difficulty, there are more notes. The notes will also scroll faster, requiring heightened reflexes to hit them. For the drums, there is a sixth difficulty called Expert+. When you're ready to test your skills against another warrior, you can participate in multiplayer. Multiplayer matches can take place either locally with friends or online against a global audience. "Guitar Hero: Warriors of Rock" features a set list that includes 93 tracks on the disc. These songs range from classic rock songs to more recent pop hits. The songs run the gamut from studio recordings to live versions. Some music was even recorded just for this game, such as Megadeth's "Sudden Death." This massive amount of content will take any gamer over 70 hours to master. If you're looking to test your guitar skills, you'll love "Warriors of Rock." Even if you've never picked up a guitar, "Warriors of Rock" is easy to learn. This game deserves a spot in any gamer's Xbox library.
