Laureate of the award of All-Ukrainian charity scientific and cultural fund named after T.Shevchenko (1994). Laureate of the international competition of bookplates “My Ukraine and the Kosach family in ex-libris” (2003). Laureate of Dnipropetrovsk Art Award named after M.Panin “for artistic and pedagogical activity” (2011). Participant of republican, all-USSR, all_ukarinian, international, foreign art exhibitions (since 1960). Exhibited his personal exhibitions in Dnepropetrovsk (1971-2001), Moscow, Russia (1976), Vilnius, Lithuania (1985), Kuterschlen, Germany (1998). Works are kept in the National Museum of History of Ukraine in World War II(Kyiv), Museum of Book and Printing of Ukraine (Kyiv), Dnepropetrovsk Art Museum, Dnepropetrovsk Museum of History named after D.Yavornytskyi, Dnepropetrovsk Museum of History of City, State Museum of Fine Art named after O.Pushkin (Moscow, Russia), Volgograd State Museum of Defense (Volgograd, Russia), Salsk Picture Gallery named after V.Nechytailo (Rostov region, Russia), private galleries in Ukraine and abroad. Working as a chief art editor in all-Ukrainian state publishing house “Sich” (Dnipropetrovsk), designed and illustrated nearly 400 books. Was a compiler of an album “Shevchenkiana in ex-libris”, first published in Ukraine in 1993 in Ukrainian, English, German and French, where more than 250 works of 73 artists from different countries are presented. More than 70 graphic works of different years, starting from the 1960s to 2000th, of Merited Cultural Worker of Ukraine V.Khvorost, are presented at the current exhibition.Among them are linocuts from the series: “Kyiv-1500”, “Hetmans of Ukraine”, “Cossack's kin will never die”, “My contemporaries”, “Pushkin in Katerynoslav”, etchings, watercolours, numerous ex-libris, dedicated to cultural workers and workers of art, and also books designed and illustrated by the artist.
