Description: This is a 1960 black and white glossy PRESS PHOTO (see both pictures) of deceased WORLD and INTERNATIONAL BOXING HALL OF FAME MEMBER EDDIE PERKINS. Eddie Perkins, in this press photo, had knocked down his opponent, JOEY LOPES, in the first round; Perkins won the bout in the seventh round by TKO. Perkins was the WBA Light Welterweight Champion in 1962, and again in 1963. He was inducted into the World Boxing Hall of Fame in 2006, and into the International Boxing Hall of Fame in 2008. Sadly, Perkins died in 2012 at the age of 75. The photo, approximately 7 inches by 10 inches in size, is clean and intact, exhibiting some wear and creasing from handling and storage over the past 63 years. This photo would make a nice addition to your own collection, or it would make a wonderful gift for that Eddie Perkins enthusiast, boxing historian, or vintage press photo collector in your life!
