Description: For your consideration is a pretty and seasonal orange and white silk komon kimono. It is in excellent condition with only a couple of very minor flaws. There is one very faint spot on the left eri (collar) and another faint discoloration in the same area, and some basting thread left on the left side. There was one faint spot on the back left sleeve. The lining is in fine condition, and I did not see any holes, tears, or loose seams. It is 62 inches long (157.5 cm), and the sleeve length is 21 inches (53 cm). The measurement from the nape of the neck to the wrist (yuki) is 26.5 inches (67 cm), and the shoulder-to-shoulder is 25 inches (64 cm). The hem width is 56 inches (142 cm). This pretty lovely kimono is an orange-red silk satin with some texturing. There are abstract polygons with stylized flowers that look like bush clover all dyed in the shibori technique. Additional connecting polygons are done in a single row of shibori. The flowers are dyed in shades of orange, mustard yellow, and a teal green. This is a very dramatic and vivid kimono that would be wonderful for fall wear.Because this is a vintage kimono with some slight imperfections, it is being sold as is. Please read the description carefully and look at the pictures closely before buying this item. Many old kimono have been in storage with mothballs for decades and may have a slight smell. We try to air them out, but sometimes there is a residual smell. Please do not buy if this is a problem. Japanese kimono and other clothing items run smaller in size than Western clothing. It is also important to remember that Japanese kimono are often rather long in order to allow for an ohashori. The length is adjusted using himo or ties which do not come with the kimono.
