Hamamatsu R6233 PMT Photomultiplier Tube with Voltage Divider Kit, BNC Connector and Silicone Coupling Compound. This PMT KIT comes with everything you need to modify it with a modern resistor network. Once modified and combined with a scintillator, these PMTs make an excellent detector for use with Ludlum meters, Gamma Spectacular HV Bias Drivers, and Theremino PMT adapter. These work great with plastic scintillators, but they are high resolution PMTs, so combining with a spectrometry quality scintillator crystal will provide a great detector for gamma spectrometry use. These tubes are able to provide 6.5% or better FWHM resolution for Cs137 when coupled to a quality NaI(Tl) crystal. Ships with the Hamamatsu Data Sheet AND 120 MegOhm PCB kit. Includes new PCB board, SMB resistors, ceramic capacitor, two Silver Plated Copper Teflon coated Wire leads, a High quality BNC connector with grounding lug, and Silicone Coupling Compound (for coupling of your crystal to the PMT). Installing the Voltage Divider in this kit is fairly easy and requires solder equipment and some basic tools. The R6233 is a 3 inch (76mm) diameter, Head-on type, Bialkali photocathode. The maximum spectral response is 300 to 650 nm, peaking near 435nm, originally designed for NaI or plastic scintillator based gamma cameras. Once modified, these PMTs are great for Scintillation Counting and an excellent choice for Gamma Spectrometry, with a low profile and High PHR. They are driven easily by voltages starting around 500 volts, and normal operating voltage is 750 to 900 volts (Maximum recommended 1100 volts). These are NOT the typical 20 to even 50 year old tubes often found on eBay (usually sold with no guarantee of operation, from sellers who would not know how to test one in the first place).
