Description: This stool was hand-carved from one single piece of wood by the Tonga people, a Bantu ethnic group of southern Zambia/ neighboring northern Zimbabwe. It was used by the elderly, symbolizing their status within the group. The stool is made from strong wood, and also have a monumental sculptural form with a figure carved in between . Tonga stool forms and styles are quite distinct; most stools are embellished with geometric support bases. The stool is approximately 13 inches high and 10.5 inches wide, the base is also 13 inches Note: It is a vintage piece, please refer to pictures for condition. The stool has aging marks and minor cracks, adding character and it is in excellent condition.
