Description: This grayling was created by my husband. He was an exceptional artist and master fly fisherman. He took his passion for fishing to his art work. This is an example of his work. Carved and painted on cedar, his attention to detail as well as his skill is quite apparent. This is not just a "flat" fish, he made this 3 dimensional with the addition of fins as well as a curved tail. He created a more realistic "face" for the fish by adding depth to the eye and the mouth. In addition you will see hundreds of scales on the grayling. He drew all those on individually by hand. Unfortunately, he passed away 2 years ago. The family has chosen their "keepers". Now I am ready to sell those left. The carving is approximately 18 inches long. It would make a special Christmas present for the avid fisher person in your life whoever that might be.
