I found nothing damaged. I picked this up at a estate sale. I have asked people that are knowledgeable about crocheted items and they assured me it was home made and they thought it was wool. I did wash it in cool water and laid it out to dry. It didn't shrink and it came out beautiful. The last two photo's show what I would call the underside due to the areas it looks like they tied to add more yarn.
