Description: ~*Hand Dyed, Natural Botanical Eco Printed Vintage Nylon Slip Dress, Sz Large*~ Description: I hand dyed/eco printed this vintage nylon upcycled slip with natural botanical elements which were rescued and saved from the landfill in cooperation with a local floral design house. Each piece is lovingly mordanted and given a bath in organic soy milk which helps not only bring out additional colors in the eco printing process, but also helps to further "set" the designs. This is fully washable and the print will last for many moons. Numerous steps are utilized in this dyeing process including steaming the garment over a natural wood fire in an enormous cauldron! The leaves, including eucalyptus, gravillea and fern are carefully arranged by hand. Shibori designs emerge courtesy of the cotton twine I parcel the pieces up with before steaming. This dress showcases delicate shades of purple, green and smoky greys. Truly one of a kind - made with love - just for you. I was especially pleased with this piece as when I unbundled it, I immediately saw a totem 'spirit bird' design with outstretched wings emerge. Can you see the bird? I think it is a raptor! Soaring high up in the thermals... Regarding size, I found an old Vanity Fair label sewn inside the side seam. I cannot make out the print. Actual garment measurements are Bust, 38 inches x waist, 32 inches x hips, 42 inches. Length from slider strap to hemline (adjustable) is currently set at 50 inches.
