Description: Estate sale find: Offering this absolutely stunning handwoven basket by a Yup'ik artist. Basket is tightly woven out of sweet grass of varying widths. The sepia dyed sweet grass stitching is in a unique soaring eagle pattern. What a story this basket tells. Basket is 6" tall and 10" wide in a "beehive" shape. Lid fits perfectly and is in excellent condition. Dated late 1920s - early 1930s. This piece was purchased at an estate sale and I was told the above information.I have no papers to authenticate.
