From its founding in 1930, to its closure in 1999, the Clevenger Brothers Glass Company of Clayton, NJ was known to produce hand blown glass that could fool the experts, blowing classic reproductions of early American South Jersey glass. Offered here is a Blown-Three-Mold Vase, the design called a Stoddard Vase by the Clevengers. This vase has a false pontil mark on the base with “CB” Clevenger initials found on pieces made after the factory was sold in 1966. The vase is cobalt blue in color, stands 7½ inches tall and is in excellent condition. Although a regular production piece, I have not seen many examples of these Stoddard Vases in cobalt blue during my forty years as a Clevenger glass collector.
