Description: For sale is a handmade wooden model of the Airco DH2 Biplane, an RFC fighter from WW1. The DH2 was the first real fighter aircraft for the Royal Flying Corps, and was armed with a forward facing Lewis machine gun, with the engine and propellor mounted behind the pilot. This type of aircraft was known as a "Pusher" type, as the aircraft was pushed by the propellor, rather than pulled by a propellor in front of the pilot. The model and plinth mount is approximately 125mm high and 150mm wide. The model aircraft itself is approximately 135mm long, 150mm wide and 60mm high. Each model has been scratch built by myself, and is not a kit. There is a clear varnish finish on the wood. It should be noted that this is a representation of the famous Royal Flying Corps DH2 fighter, and is purely a static display model. Not a toy, this is meant for display purposes only. Each model comes with a short info leaflet about the Airco DH2 in WW1
