I discovered that when I offer lots of shipping choices, ebay does not display the lowest shipping option. Here is an antique cast iron mortar. Marked on the bottom BALDWIN 5 IN. It measures 5" across the top, the bottom 4 5/8" and about 4 1/4" tall. Unfortunately there is not a pestle. The shape of it reminds me of the styles seen in old apothecary shops and compounding pharmacies. The pestle would be used to crush and grind herbs and other medicines. Today these are used in the kitchen. Please review the photos, as always they are the best description. You can always meet us for local pick-up and we can deliver to some areas. Just message us!
