Hans J Wegner For Johannes Hansen Rare Mid Century Danish Teak Desk

Description: For your consideration is a rare desk created by Hans J Wenger for Johannes Hansen. I have spent several months researching Hans Wegner as well as Johannes Hansen literature to find the model number for this desk with no conclusive answer. I have also reached out to many danish modern collectors and resellers that may have known a number or story to this desk. All have the same sentiments that this desk is the sister desk to the wishbone, rarely produced at the time, and is pre 1955 as it is lacking the traditional stamping or marking that you would find on post 1955 Johannes Hansen furniture. The overall dimensions of the desk as as follows 59.5" Width 28" Depth 29" Height Drawer dimensions Drawer 1 : 2.5" Height 14" Width 25.5" Depth Drawer 2 & 3 : 5.5" Height 14" Width 25.5" Depth Please keep in considering at how rare this desk is and that it will need a full restoration. I found the desk in this condition and am selling it in as-is condition. Please note the two of the three drawer pulls snapped off, and large gouges in the top of the desk. However this survivor is an excellent candidate for a restoration of any degree. You could choose a simple reservation and continue to use the desk in its beautiful aesthetic. Or you may choose a complete restoration and keep this desk as a very limited run sister to the wishbone and admire its beautiful design.
