Description: Offered is a Hardinge Lathe HL-6461 Taper Attachment. Included are the T-slot mounting bolts (1/4 x 3/4sq) and the lathe cross slide mounting block. These parts are missing from most taper units offered! This assembly has a 7/16 male key that slides into the lathe 7/16 slot in the rear of the lathe. The pictures show the details. I believe this HL-6461 unit is similar to the HLV and HLV-H, thus may fit these and other Hardinge models. Important info: The last few photos show the measurements from the back of your lathe to the center of the slide block, set at zero. 4-7/8 Also, from the top of the slide block to the top of the 7/16 wide key. Don’t forget to add half of the key, (7/32) My calculations come to 4.062 This assembly was sitting on a shelf next to the lathe and looked crusty with dust and oil spray. The dark looking stains on the metal is from years of oil residue. It cleaned up nicely as you can see! With a little engineering, fabricating a few spacer blocks and shims, I'm thinking this tapered attachment can be fitted to other makes and model lathes.
