Description: You are purchasing a USA-made primary cover screw kit consisting of a set of parkerized 10 OEM# 037 or 1211 (10-32 NF x 5/8”) primary cover screws, 10 OEM# 0254 or 7021 #10 parkerized lock washers, as well as 10 derby inspection cover screws OEM # 048A or 2268 (12-24 NC x 1/2”) oval head straight slot screws. These are 10-32 NF x 5/8” filister head straight slot screws used on the primary covers from 1936 to 1964. straight slot screws are “correct” through 1949 according to Bruce Palmer in his How To Restore Your Harley Davidson book, he suggests they changed to Philips drive filister head screws in 1950. We do offer Philips head filister screws in a parkerized or cad finish on other listings as complete primary kits in our store. Parts catalogs show the 3/8” long 048/2265 screw used on the derby covers for big twins. You simply cannot get enough bite with the thick cork gaskets the derbys use. If you need/want some NOS 048 or 2265 screws I’ve got them in my eBay store. The cad plating and parkerizing is perfect.
