Description: Harry Potter, "The Tales of Beedle the Bard" by JK Rowling, Limited Collector s First Edition. On December 4th, 2008, Amazon exclusively offered a special collector's edition of "The Tales of Beetle the Bard". After having purchased 1 of 7 originals at an auction, only 100,000 copies where were ever printed and sold. This luxuriously packed collector's edition features a book within-a-book design. The book is tucked inside an "outter book", a case designed as a visiting textbook from the Hogwarts library. In opening the "outer book" a velvet bag embroidered with JK Rowling's signature is revealed. Inside that bag is "The Tales of Beetle the Bard" complete with bounded ligit bounded leather binding, metal work (corners, claps and skull) replica, gemstones, an exclusive reproduction of JK Rowling's handwritten introduction. Additionally the collector's edition features 10 new illustrations by JK Rowling. In December of 2007 Amazon purchased JK rolling's "The Tales of Beetle the Bard" at an auction held by Sotheby's in London. The book of 5 wizarding fairy tales referenced in the last book of the Harry Potter series (book 7), "Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows" was one of only 7 handmade copies in existence. The book was purchased for 4 million/1,950,000 dollars with the proceeds of the sale going to the children's high-level group.
