Description: This is a custom 12" figure of fictional western TV character, Paladin from the tv show "Have Gun Will Travel". Paladin was a gentleman gunfighter in the old West played by Richard Boone. Paladin lived in the Hotel Carlton, San Francisco and advertised in newspapers, like the Times, "Have Gun Will Travel wire Paladin San Francisco". He called himself Paladin after the foremost knight warriors in King Charlemagne's court.The thirty minute tv series Have Gun Will Travel ran six seasons on CBS from 1957-1963. Paladin would hire out to his client to solve their problems, but he was not your typical fast gun for hire. While Paladin would charge steep fees for those who could afford to pay, ($1,000.00 on up), many times he worked for no fee because his client had no money or was someone being oppressed by a more powerful or unscrupulous person.He shot only when necessary which he did very well and very quickly. Paladin also carried a derringer. There were a lot of interesting characters that Paladin crossed paths with throughout his travels. The story quality was very good, especially for a thirty minute show. This was one of the coolest shows on tv when it was on. You can sometimes find this show on channels that run old westerns or tv series.
