Description: Haworthiopsis attenuata formerly named Haworthia attenuata commonly known as the ZEBRA PLANT Haworthiopsis attenuata is a beautiful dark green, thick-leafed evergreen succulent plant with tapered leaves (attenuata means ‘tapering') showing attractive bands of white tubercles Native in the wild to the Eastern Cape Province of South Africa, this species evolved in a stark, arid environment. Hardy and drought resistant, vigorous and easy to cultivate, Haworthiopsis attenuata is a popular horticultural species that can be grown indoors or outdoors in frost-free areas. Although it prefers bright direct light, it can tolerate a range of lighting conditions. While they are OK with some shade, decent sunlight will ensure compact growth habits, attractive leaf coloration and abundant flowers. They take very well to container culture, forming large pleasing clumps of plantlets that can be readily subdivided into offset pups. Its lovely racemes of dangling tubular flowers are beloved by hummingbirds. Popular and undemanding, Haworthiopsis attenuata are hardy plants tolerant of some neglect and infrequent watering. Drought Tolerant Suitable for Xeriscaping A hardy, forgiving and tolerant species that’s vigorous and easy to cultivate Haworthiopsis attenuata will thrive in any collection. It has low water requirements, surviving well with infrequent irrigation. Very easy to grow and care for, this tough, bulletproof plant can take a lot of neglect and absolutely flourish. • PLEASE READ CAREFULLY For sale is a rooted pup specimen taken from the strong and healthy 'mother' plants in my collection as shown above.
