Description: DOES NOT COME WITH COOLANT EXPANSION TANK The Mercedes ML, GL, and GLE have a silica packet in the coolant expansion tank. When this packet brakes, it will pump the silica beads into your cooling system blocking the radiator as well as your heater core, causing limited to no heat to come through the vents. We have seen quotes from $3,000-12,000 to attempt to black flush the cooling system or replace the entire vehicle cooling system. Our kit installs in just a few minutes, with a cold engine. No modification is required. Just a coolant top off. The Screens install into both the coolant reservoir inlet and outlet pipes. This way when your silica packet brakes open, the silica beads stay in the coolant reservoir saving you thousands in repair. We are a 20 year euro shop with our own machine shop. We design, and manufacture all parts here in Oregon with a heavy emphasis on a turn key solution as we understand how expensive and labor intensive European car repair is. If you have any questions please feel free to ask, we are happy to help. Required tools:1. Cold Engine Coolant (let vehicle sit engine off for 12 hrs prior to install)2. Set of pliers3. Drip pan (to catch about 0.5L of coolant from expansion tank)4. That's it. Install:1. Let the vehicle sit for 12 hrs and verify the coolant hoses to reservoir are cold to the touch.2. Remove coolant reservoir, fill cap slowly to release any pressure that might be left in the system3. Remove both hose spring clamps with pliers on coolant reservoir (they will lock open)4. Remove both rubber hoses from reservoir5. Install filter kits into plastic reservoir (as seen in photos)6. Reinstall hoses and spring clamps.(TIP: when spring clamp is in the correct location, use a 90* hose tool to hook the rectangle tab of the camp and pull up hard to re-engage the hose clamp. If you need to adjust it after, you can use your pliers to slightly squeeze the clamp and adjust)7. Top off with coolant and re-install coolant cap.8. You're done!
