Miniature (see photo for more details). Here we have an attractive solid specimen of mammilary hematite (also referred to as kidney ore because of the kidney like shape). The hematite formed as a completely 'solid' piece of hematite with multiple layers of hematite forming with multiple cycles of deposition building up a mammilary concentric mass of hematite. The surface has a bright shiny metallic black luster. This peace is a nice display piece however it is also excellent 'gem' material and could be used (heaven forbid since I am a mineral purist) for lapidary purposes i.e. cabochon and carving etc.). For those people interested in the metaphysical Hematite is used to bring mental organization and is very grounding and calming. It can help with original thinking logical thinking and mathematics any type of thinking which requires significant mental organization. Emotionally hematite decreases negativity. This lowering of negativity can benefit by helping balance the body/mind/spirit connection. It also is said to balance the meridians boost self-esteem and self-confidence. (too large to fit inside a 3 inch cube) Look for -CAB in our titles.
