Herbert Terry & Sons WWII Air Ministry 5C/1079 Navigators Anglepoise lamp.

Description: Made by Herbert Terry & Sons circa 1930s 40s for the Air Ministry / RAF as Navigators Anglepoise lamps on board aircraft including the Lancaster bomber. This lightweight aluminium model of lamp has the unique distinctive large round friction dampers on the joints to prevent movement from vibration in flight. Also a unique smaller shade along with other unique features which makes these rare and collectable lamps.This example has the makers mark 'Herbert Terry' etc on the stem and not the A.M. mark. It is marked A.M. on the switch junction box. To avoid the original 12V dimmer switch which would need a transformer. This example has been wired for regular household 240V with a regular 3 pin plug. Original period Air Ministry junction box and on/off toggle switch.Fully working with new LED bulb to prevent getting too hot.
