Description: This exceptional pair of 3” all-bisque nodder (or knotter) dolls was made in Germany by Hertwig in the 1920’s. The Native American dolls are shown on page 93 of “Hertwig & Co. Archives 1890-1937”. The 1&1/8” baby is from the same time period and may have been made by Hertwig as well. The nodders have molded hair, painted features, chubby tummies, and are move at the necks when the strings are pulled. Both are marked 1929 on the bottoms of their feet, though I don’t know if the marks are original or were added later. The baby is unmarked. All three dolls are in excellent, undamaged condition from a smoke-free home. There are no cracks, chips, repairs or repaints. The paint on the dolls is virtually complete and the nodders still hold their often missing flowers. Please enlarge and examine the photos for additional description of condition. I have additional antique all-bisque dolls currently listed on eBay. Please check my other listings. I am happy to combine shipping for dolls purchased in the same eBay cart. Thank you for looking.
