Description: This sailor cap dates to the late 1890s-early 1910s and is a souvenir beret from the USS San Francisco, which was built in SF Bay Area shipyards and made many commissioned runs between the late Victorian era to early Edwardian, sailing all over the world in her tours. Very small band size suitable for either a child or to be pinned to a woman's hair. In tan brown velvet with a black silk grosgrain ribbon band on which is printed in gold 'USS San Francisco'. The purple silk interior lining is shredded and there are some small marks of wear on the velvet as well. Very rare to find one of these! I cannot accept returns on these antique items, so please read the description thoroughly, view all photos and ask any questions before purchase, thank you!
