Description: Historical 1920s Hotel Astor Small Plate Berry Nathan Straus NY Titanic Ties. Measures approximately 7.5". At the time this piece was used, John Jacob Astor IV was still alive.Mr. Astor, like many others, perished with the sinking of the Titanic in 1912. Just that fact alone, makes this piece a multi-interest piece of history. A side note, John Jacob Astor was the Richest Man on the Titanic. And to top that tid bit of history, Mr. Nathan Straus also had ties to the famed Titanic. That history can be found on the NCSY dot ORG website. Anything Astor is pretty scarce to find. At least with good historical items. It's rare to find early pieces that were actually within the walls of the famed Astor Hotel. Great antique condition no chips, cracks or other issues to report. There is a dent, or maybe an old chip, on the edge but it is smooth. Please zoom all pictures as they are part of the description.I try my best to describe every listing but I am NOT an expert and items are sold "as is." My idea of great/good may be different than yours, so please review photos as supplement to the word description in case I should miss something. If I fail to mention something, it does not qualify as “item not as described” if it shows in my pictures. What you see is what you'll receive. Please keep in mind that picture color/tint may vary somewhat depending on your monitor and the light and exposure with the camera. If your item was damaged during delivery, PLEASE contact me first before making a claim with eBay so we can quickly resolve the issue. Thank you.2886-02
